Accounting Assistant

We are looking for an accounting assistant to fill a maternity leave position, with the possibility of extension within the team. The person holding the position performs tasks similar to those of an accounting technician. They handle routine accounting operations, account tracking, preparation of financial documents, and various administrative tasks related to accounting, while contributing to the smooth functioning of the organization's financial activities.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Manage invoicing, payments, and customer follow-ups
• Manage suppliers: validation, data entry, and payments
• Coordinate employee and freelancer payroll + ensure HR file tracking
• Track numbers, keep spreadsheets and reports up-to-date
• Organize various documents and work efficiently with QuickBooks and Dext
• Collaborate with the external accountant and produce periodic reports
• Perform quarterly closing, produce and pay GST/HST
• Manage various administrative files (grants, insurance, etc.)
• Perform certain administrative tasks to assist the project manager as needed
• Work closely with the management and the rest of the team
• Perform all other related tasks

Desired criteria

• Sense of organization, attention to detail, and diligence
• Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and determine priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Proficiency in Google suite (Gmail, Calendar)
• Knowledge of QuickBooks and Dext
• Excellent written and spoken French

Salary: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour
