Techo-Bloc is looking for a mechanic to maintain and repair its fleet of mobile equipment and automobiles.

Our fleet includes a wide variety of equipment, including over 40 forklifts with a capacity of 3,000 lbs and more, primarily from brands Caterpillar, Toyota, Hyster, and Linde, as well as aerial platforms, wheel loaders, and various company vehicles.

You will work within a passionate and dynamic team where teamwork, collaboration, and mutual support are top priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on forklifts, mobile equipment, and the company's automobile fleet;
• Inspect equipment and verify the proper functioning of Caterpillar, Toyota, Hyster, and Linde forklifts;
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues;
• Perform necessary repairs and replace faulty parts using manual, electrical, or mechanical tools;
• Analyze inspection reports to determine and perform necessary work to ensure equipment functionality and safety;
• Lubricate equipment and perform recommended preventive maintenance tasks;
• Clean forklifts, vehicles, and heavy machinery using appropriate equipment;
• Test repaired equipment to confirm proper functioning and ensure repairs meet manufacturer requirements;
• Maintain tools and work areas clean, safe, and well-organized;
• Document maintenance and repairs performed;
• Travel, if necessary, between different factories within a 5 km radius to perform maintenance and repairs;
• Perform any other related tasks.

Qualifications

• DEP in construction equipment mechanics, automotive mechanics, heavy vehicle mechanics, or any other relevant training;
• Experience in mobile equipment mechanics, automotive mechanics, or a related field;
• Knowledge of mechanics, electricity, and hydraulics;
• Basic knowledge of cutting tools, fabrication, and welding;
• Ability to read plans, sketches, technical manuals, and service bulletins, an asset;
• Ability to read technical documentation in French and English, an asset;
• Forklift operator certification, an asset;
• Valid driver's license;
• Autonomy, resourcefulness, and initiative;
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills;
• Team spirit and ability to collaborate with different departments.
