Groupe Marcelle is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician for a full-time permanent position.
The incumbent of this position is responsible for quality control analyses of raw materials and finished products using various laboratory instruments, such as HPLC, Karl Fischer, viscometer, ultraviolet and infrared spectrophotometer, among others. This person will also be called upon to participate in microbiological analyses and environmental monitoring analyses, as well as other related activities, such as sampling of raw materials and bulk products. They perform analyses in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The person may also be involved in the management of the product stability program, as well as the calibration and maintenance program of instruments. Additionally, they provide valuable support for problem-solving in these two areas.

- In-person, given the nature of the position
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (36.25 hours per week)
- Hourly wage: $29.39/hour

WHAT YOU WILL DO
The main tasks related to this position are described below. These are performed in compliance with the company's policies as well as the requirements of GMP and other applicable standards.
Analyses
- Perform quality control analyses of raw materials, bulk products, finished products, and stability samples (pharmaceutical and cosmetic products);
- Perform physico-chemical analyses using various analytical techniques (HPLC, viscosity, pH, Karl Fischer, UV-Vis, FTIR, etc.);
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot analytical methods when required;
- Microbiological analyses of bulk and finished products, including environmental monitoring activities;
- Prepare samples, solutions, and standards necessary for analyses.
- Sampling
- Perform sampling of raw materials, bulk products, and finished products in accordance with sampling procedures, GMP requirements, and approved methods;
- Prepare and transfer samples for quality control analyses and stability programs.
- Laboratory Management and Maintenance
- Maintain an accurate inventory of stability samples and retention samples;
- Manage chemicals, solvents, standards, and laboratory supplies;
- Ensure the use, maintenance, and tracking of analytical equipment;
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory equipment checks;
- Participate in the calibration, qualification, and preventive maintenance program of instruments.
- Documentation
- Write and review procedures, methods, and documents related to laboratory activities;
- Prepare reports for the development, validation, or verification of analytical methods when required;
- Participate in the management of the pharmaceutical product stability program;
- Prepare and complete analytical files for bulk, finished, and stability products.
- Related Tasks
- Perform internal audits as needed;
- Perform any other task related to GMP as operational needs require.
- WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU IF YOU HAVE
- A college diploma (D.E.C) in chemistry or related fields, or be a holder of a diploma or certificate of studies whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority;
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Quality Control Technician in a company regulated by GMP, or an equivalent combination of training and relevant experience;
- Good computer skills, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
