Position Description

The Surveyor will be responsible for providing alignments, construction axes, elevations, and points of a site or structure necessary for the execution of construction work.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Study plans to understand the necessary surveying parameters;
• Seek information from the Supervisor and/or Foreman about the weekly needs for their projects;
• Respect project schedule and completion constraints;
• Track project modifications and update plans, notebooks, and machine data (Trimble environment);
• Ensure the Foreman understands the surveying work done;
• Implement 3D surfaces in machine control systems (Trimble, GCS900, and Earthworks environments);
• Report on surveying work done under contract;
• Calculate implantation points for surveying;
• Perform autonomous site surveys (TQC: as built);
• Perform volume calculations;
• Calculate excavated and filled volumes for payment and production tracking purposes;
• Perform any other tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor or to meet specific expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in civil engineering;
• DEP in surveying and topography;
• Occupation Competency Card;
• Valid Class 5 driver's license.

Skills

• Plan reading;
• Intermediate to advanced MS Office level;
• Knowledge of computer-aided design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D);
• Trimble environment.
