Join a store owned by pharmacist-owners to help provide health, beauty, and convenience services in your community and put the customer at the center of everything you do.

Why is this role important?

SUMMARY

The cashier supervisor manages the resources (human, physical, financial) of the cashier department. The cashier supervisor works in tandem with the other departments of the store to ensure the achievement of the store's objectives and the excellence of customer service.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set an example and ensure that cashiers demonstrate our values of BEING.
  • Conduct interviews and recommend final candidates for hiring cashiers.
  • Ensure that cashiers comply with all store standards.
  • Schedule cashier shifts, days off, and vacations according to established guidelines.
  • Train employees according to their positions and provide supervision and instructions.
  • Assist in evaluating cashier performance in collaboration with the store manager.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Ensure that exceptional customer service is provided beyond expectations.
  • Ensure that employees present an appropriate image to the public according to the uniform policy.
  • Ensure that cashiers ask customers if they have their PC Optimum card during each transaction.
  • Promote company initiatives related to fundraising and PC Optimum with customers and employees.
  • Take responsibility for targeted promotions and offers.
  • Ensure that all cashiers are aware of weekly promotions and the price accuracy policy.
  • Ensure that lottery ticket trays comply with standards and laws and are locked.

FINANCIAL

  • Perform office and banking tasks.
  • Contribute to all coin orders, resolve all discrepancies with cash and coin orders.
  • Maintain the cashier office and safe according to store standards.
  • Print the anomaly report weekly by determining discrepancies.
  • Print the weekly deficit and surplus report; identify discrepancies and investigate their cause.
  • Be familiar with relevant customer accounts.

LOSS PREVENTION

  • Ensure that all loss prevention systems and procedures are performed according to standards.
  • Ensure that bag checking procedures are followed.

SKILLS

  • Planning, judgment, and decision-making.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and make decisions to address customer requests.
  • Demonstrate judgment and make decisions based on the ability to ask the right questions to find appropriate solutions.
  • Possess the ability to react according to tasks and objectives set by the management team.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in workforce management and supervision.
  • Experience in retail sales and handling money and grocery.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
