This position is to be filled within Valeurs Mobilières Banque Laurentienne, a subsidiary of Banque Laurentienne.
The incumbent manages the distribution and negotiation of government bonds, ensuring the liquidity of the securities and responding to clients' needs. Analyzes investment opportunities, executes transactions with rigor, and monitors risks to protect capital and generate profits. Ensures compliance with industry and organizational standards while maintaining a high level of professionalism and technical expertise.

Its institutional fixed-income division, recognized in the industry, holds a leading position in the issuance of government and corporate bonds in Canada, as well as in market-making and transaction execution activities.
Responsibilities
- Manages the distribution process of government bonds based on our participation in block trades (primary market).
- Maintains and provides liquidity in securities (market-making negotiator).
- Analyzes financial product needs and makes relevant acquisitions for resale to clients and VMBL.
- Masterfully uses various computer tools to execute and record transactions.
- Demonstrates diligence and professionalism to minimize errors and intervene in correcting those of internal and/or external clients.
- Is rigorous in applying sector and organizational standards.
- Is aware that the quality of professionalism of his work directly affects sales/representatives, clients, and VMBL's corporate image.
- Continuously monitors the level, volatility, and adversity of inventories to protect VMBL's capital.
- Ensures the desk complies with aggregates and counterparty and issuer limits.
- Keeps up-to-date with new developments in the field and constantly improves technical skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree related to administration, finance, or economics.
- Three (3) years of experience at the brokerage level.
- CFA, an asset.
- The following Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) courses are required:
Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE)* + Canadian Securities Regulation Exam (ERVMC).
Institutional Securities Exam + Institutional Securities Exam.
- Proficiency in French and English.
- Proficiency in French and English is required as the position requires frequent written and oral communications in these two languages with internal and external parties on complex issues.
