Mission of the Organization: Operate a youth house for ages 12 to 17, and a day camp for ages 5 to 12 who reside in the territory of the city of Longueuil, to support them in their learning journeys to become active, critical, and responsible citizens. This organization is not a health or social services establishment under the *Health and Social Services Act*, but a non-profit community organization.
Role: Under the responsibility of the general management, the coordinator acts as a first-line resource for the youth workers and animators to resolve issues related to the smooth operation and quality of service. They aim to resolve problems with them, in a continuous improvement approach. The coordinator is responsible for team evaluations to ensure individual follow-up and observe performance. Regular follow-ups occur between the coordinator and the general management to keep the latter informed of the team's progress. The coordinator is in charge of the day camp during the summer period.
Main Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the work team, interns, and volunteers;
- Guide interventions and coach the work team;
- Manage administrative files and ensure the writing of weekly reports;
- Co-plan and co-facilitate team meetings with the general management;
- Manage the work schedule;
- Actively participate in consultation tables while developing partnerships to enhance the organization's visibility in the community;
- Implement tools for better team and youth house management;
- Ensure follow-up with the management and actively participate in weekly meetings;
- Resource person to ensure the proper functioning and respect of the rules of the Youth House and day camp;
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the Youth House and day camp;
- Manage the budget for outings and reservations;
- Purchase necessary materials for activities and the functioning of the Youth House;
- Be the resource person during trips and in case of emergency at the Youth House or day camp;
- Handle submissions, partnerships, and various requests from the General Management.
Qualifications and Profile
- Have a college or university degree in a field of human sciences such as social work, special education, intervention, or any other relevant field;
- Have a degree in management OR relevant experience in managing community organizations;
- Have a valid driver's license;
- Have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in intervention with adolescent clientele;
- Ability to animate and mobilize a work team;
- Excellent listening skills and ability to proactively manage conflicts;
- Excellent management, planning, and organization skills;
- Demonstrate initiative, leadership, and creativity;
- Sense of responsibility, good management of priorities, and autonomy;
- Proficiency in French (oral and written) and excellent writing skills;
- Very good relational skills and teamwork aptitudes;
- Knowledge of the community sector.
