Responsibilities
- Study received requests for proposals and recommend or not their acceptance;
- Read, dissect, analyze, and understand plans and quotes;
- Enter and manage data in submission files;
- Prepare quotes, take measurements and quantities from plans, and perform material calculations;
- Request and negotiate prices and deadlines with suppliers and subcontractors;
- Estimate and evaluate project-related costs;
- Write and prepare proposals and submissions according to the client's schedule, requirements, and budget, or collaborate with project managers for information transfer;
- Communicate with clients to obtain clarifications, if necessary;
- Modify technical drawings in software such as *Avaware*;
- Perform research and create custom piece sheets;
- Adapt changes requested by the client and apply modifications to the offer, if necessary;
- Finalize the project summary and send it to the client;
- Collaborate with project managers and facilitate information transfer to execution;
- Act as a specialist and provide customer service that meets expectations;
- Keep up-to-date submission, control, and report writing systems and procedures;
- Provide technical assistance to sales representatives and support project managers.
Education, experience, and knowledge
- Holder of a college diploma – an asset
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience in estimation or project management in the construction industry
- Customer service experience – an asset
- Knowledge of architectural hardware, doors, and building structure – an asset
- Good command of the French language and knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written
- Proficiency in the Office suite, including Excel/Outlook
- Knowledge of reading plans and quotes
- Knowledge of the current Quebec Building Code
Certifications
- Holder of a valid driver's license – an asset
- Holder of an ASP construction card (parish agreement for health and safety at work in the construction sector) – an asset
