Class 1 Truck Driver – Local Transport

We are looking for a Class 1 truck driver with solid experience to join our team.

This is a primarily local position of approximately 40 to 50 hours per week. The truck is based in Varennes, on the South Shore of Montreal.

The selected person will primarily drive a truck with a semi-trailer tractor 3-axle and may occasionally be called upon to transport tanker trailers.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform local transport with a semi-trailer tractor;
• Drive and maneuver a 3-axle tractor;
• Occasionally transport tanker trailers;
• Perform safety rounds and inspections before departure;
• Ensure that loads are secure and compliant;
• Complete required documents, weigh tickets, and reports;
• Adhere to driving hours and road safety rules;
• Keep the truck and trailers clean;
• Report any mechanical issues promptly;
• Represent the company professionally to clients and at various sites.

Requirements

• Hold a valid Class 1 driver's license;
• Have a minimum of 5 years of experience driving heavy vehicles;
• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience with a semi-trailer tractor;
• Be comfortable with driving and maneuvering a 3-axle tractor;
• Have an excellent driving record;
• Be self-reliant, responsible, punctual, and resourceful;
• Be respectful of equipment, clients, and deadlines;
• Experience with tanker trailers is an asset;
• Hold the required endorsements and certifications according to the type of equipment and merchandise transported.

Conditions

• Full-time position;
• Approximately 40 to 50 hours per week;
• Primarily local transport;
• Truck based in Varennes, on the South Shore;
• Primarily work with a 3-axle tractor;
• Occasional transport of tanker trailers;
• Start date to be discussed.
