Junior Estimator in Thermal Insulation

Under the supervision of the Estimation Director or Senior Project Manager, the Junior Estimator participates in the analysis of plans and estimates, the preparation of proposals, and the evaluation of costs related to thermal insulation projects.

No experience in thermal insulation is required. Training and mentorship will be provided.

• Analyze plans, estimates, addenda, and request for proposal documents.
• Perform quantity take-offs on plans
• Identify required materials according to specifications
• Participate in the preparation and drafting of proposals.
• Perform cost calculations for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Use estimation software for take-offs and calculations
• Participate in the preparation and assembly of proposals
• Follow up on requests for proposals
• Maintain up-to-date cost databases
• Collaborate with project managers and management
• Participate in the continuous improvement of estimation processes.

Requirements

• Training in construction estimation (AEC or DEC) or related field.
• Experience in estimation or construction sector (an asset).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to read plans and estimates.
• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple files simultaneously.
• Assets
• Knowledge of FastWrap (an asset, but not mandatory).
• Experience in construction or building mechanics
• Knowledge of the thermal insulation sector (an asset, but not mandatory).
