Municipal Engineer

Sainte-Julienne Municipality is seeking a candidate to fill a full-time, regular, managerial position for a Municipal Engineer.

Responsibilities

Under the responsibility of the general management, the person holding this position performs, without limitation, the following tasks:

• Provide technical advice to the management for the planning of road projects;
• Conduct estimates for Municipality projects related to their field of expertise;
• Design plans and estimates for the realization of various road projects (sidewalk/multi-functional trail improvement, asphalt repair, parking, etc.);
• Project tracking with contractors, work supervision, and payment recommendation issuance for projects under their direction;
• Project tracking with engineering firms mandated for projects outside their field of expertise;
• Analyze plans submitted by developers for the preparation of agreement protocols;
• Prepare tender estimates for the activities of the public works department (e.g., road marking, street sweeping, ditch mowing, etc.);
• Issue recommendations on good engineering practices and ensure their follow-up;
• Respond to citizen inquiries related to their field of expertise;
• All other related tasks.
