Do you want to create a vibrant, warm, and stimulating space at the heart of a community thrift store? The RAFT is looking for a community proximity worker to actively contribute to the establishment of its new *LILO living space*, while providing occasional support to the organization's psychosocial services.

Nature of the position: 90% of the tasks are dedicated to the development and animation of the LILO living space, located in the premises of the Ex&Co Thrift Store. The remaining 10% are dedicated to occasional support for the RAFT's activities

Desired profile

This position requires a person who is very dynamic, autonomous, and ready to roll up their sleeves. Since the LILO living space is in the process of being created, the worker will need to be comfortable with building step by step, proposing ideas, and adapting. They will also need to assume any other related tasks in a spirit of teamwork: folding clothes, welcoming customers, organizing, managing the cash register… At our organization, we don't stand idle: we work as a team! You need to be comfortable with versatility! For example, using the Interac machine to process a payment is also an opportunity to build relationships with families, to talk to them, to ask a question, to observe a dynamic. Every interaction counts in our living space.

90% (LILO living space in the thrift store)

Main responsibilities – LILO section

• Welcome, listen, and build relationships with people who frequent the thrift store (non-traditional environment);
• Actively participate in the creation of an inclusive, kind, and dynamic living space within the thrift store;
• Animate activities, workshops, discussion spaces;
• Collaborate on special projects (Christmas Ephemeral Shop, Tisane & Slippers, etc.);
• Support community tasks at the location: cash register, sales assistance, labeling, welcoming volunteers, etc.;
• Get involved in promoting the RAFT's services to the families present.

• Education (social services, special education, etc.) or experience in psychosocial intervention, community work, or related fields;
• Comfortable in a lively environment, with a diverse clientele;
• Creative, autonomous, warm, and solution-oriented;
• Ability to build trust quickly, without being intrusive;
• Knowledge of the community and sensitivity to the reality of families.

Working conditions

• Salary: 26.50
• Schedule: Saturday morning, Friday afternoon, and one evening per week
