Your role

Strategic Leadership

• Actively participate in the short, medium, and long-term strategic planning of BellatRx.
• Develop and implement the engineering strategy to support the company's business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and after-sales service teams to align engineering priorities with market needs, production capabilities, and customer expectations.
• Define, maintain, and evolve engineering best practices, standards, and processes.
• Manage the department's budget and resources to optimize performance and resource utilization.
• Identify and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, and collaboration among different departments.

Leadership and Team Development

• Inspire, motivate, and support the engineering management team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee recruitment, integration, development, and retention of talent.
• Set clear goals, establish key performance indicators (KPIs), and monitor results.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to help everyone reach their full potential.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and support the team's training initiatives.

Project Management

• Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Identify risks, remove obstacles, and implement mitigation strategies in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Ensure close collaboration with sales, operations, after-sales service, and finance to ensure project success.

Innovation and Product Development

• Stimulate innovation by exploring new technologies and emerging trends in packaging automation.
• Participate in the development of new products and technologies that meet market needs.
• Lead research and development initiatives to improve the performance, reliability, manufacturability, maintainability, and profitability of our solutions.
• Contribute to the evolution of BellatRx's product portfolio through strategic vision and innovative solutions.

Customer Orientation

• Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs and market trends.
• Support the Applications team in translating customer needs into realistic and high-performance technical solutions.
• Provide technical support to customers when needed and collaborate with operations and after-sales service teams to ensure successful installations and commissioning.

Quality and Continuous Improvement

• Ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of all solutions developed by the engineering team.
• Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Service teams to maintain robust processes and ensure consistent quality.
• Analyze technical issues, identify root causes, and implement lasting corrective actions.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement through processes, tools, and work methods.

The desired profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar leadership role.
• Strong expertise in electrical engineering, automation, and integration (experience in machine design).
• Recognized experience in managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Excellent ability to develop a strategic vision and turn it into concrete results.
• Demonstrated aptitudes in leadership, communication, and mobilization.
• Strong ability to collaborate with different departments and influence decisions.
• Innovative spirit and orientation towards continuous improvement.
• Excellent understanding of issues related to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Excellent mastery of English (oral and written) and functional knowledge of French.
• Membership in the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ) is an asset.
