Compensation Details

  • Software Engineer 17: Annual salaries typically range from $84,698 to $112,931, plus performance-based compensation, depending on qualifications and experience.

Work Location

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement of two days in the office per week, which will increase to three days per week starting September 2026 (subject to change).
  • The selected candidate can work from EDC's headquarters in Ottawa or from the Community Hub in Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver.
  • Relocation assistance is offered to eligible candidates.

Led by the Chief Information Officer, the Digital Solutions and Technology Group was established in 2023 to provide our clients and employees with the tools needed to conquer the world by offering reliable and secure digital services. The group aims to achieve the following:

  • Define, establish, and maintain the integrated target technology state, the target data model, and the technological activities necessary for EDC's operational transformation by 2030.
  • Create and manage the three-year continuous digital roadmap; this document establishes the order of obtaining the required results to achieve the target technology state and facilitates its implementation across all areas of the organization.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure EDC has the digital tools that will keep it relevant in the market and enhance Canada's commercial presence on the international stage.
  • Ensure the integrated implementation of digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity projects to deliver an excellent experience to clients, users, and employees.

Within the Digital Solutions and Technology Group, the Digital Platform Execution and Architecture Group plays a crucial role in enabling the Corporation to use secure, scalable, and needs-driven digital platforms.

To support EDC's automation and workflow modernization program, the Digital Business Platforms Group is seeking a Developer who will be responsible for automating the platforms. The selected candidate must be proficient and have strong experience with automation platforms and using UiPath and ServiceNow's Customer Service Management (CSM) module, workflow orchestration, and Azure integration services.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the practical technical execution, focusing on designing, developing, testing, and supporting automation and workflow management solutions associated with enterprise platforms such as UiPath, CSM, and ServiceNow Automation Center, Power Platform, and Azure.

They will work closely with Technical Service Managers and Automation Architects; Automation Center of Excellence members, first-level advisors, and non-expert developers; Process Owners and Subject Matter Experts; and teams responsible for a platform or integration.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy creating high-quality end-to-end automation solutions and wish to be exposed to enterprise platforms, governance, and financial services workflows.

The selected candidate is a pragmatic person who can perform tasks autonomously, contribute to design, and support production activities with some guidance.

What You Will Do

  • Automation and Workflow Development:
  • Design, develop, test, and update automation solutions using UiPath and CSM or ServiceNow's Workflow Data Fabric.
  • Develop workflows and integrations using Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and ServiceNow's Workflow Data Fabric.
  • Implement secure and scalable integrations using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), events, and Azure services.
  • Develop automation solutions that are compatible with multiple systems while adhering to the Corporation's architecture and security standards.
  • Integrate AI into digital platforms.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • + Level 17: Provide user stories and end-to-end tasks based on solid engineering practices and peer reviews.
  • Execution and Quality:
  • Participate in the evaluation of solution designs and implement approved technical designs by technical managers or architects.
  • Adhere to coding, documentation, and testing standards to ensure production-ready solutions.
  • Contribute to automated testing, regression testing, and defect resolution.
  • Support deployments using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines with Azure DevOps and Git version control system.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • + Level 17: Implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery steps and follow branching and merging strategies.
  • Platform Operations and Support:
  • Monitor automation execution, logs, and performance indicators.
  • Update and evolve reusable libraries and components.
  • Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
  • Support upgrades, patches, and changes to platforms while minimizing disruptions.
  • Update technical documents and production support artifacts.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • + Level 17: Resolve standard incidents or defects using established templates and hierarchical escalation.
  • Collaboration and Enablement:
  • Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into operational solutions.
  • Support and guide non-expert developers, helping them adhere to platform standards and best practices, in partnership with the Automation Center of Excellence.
