CPA Controller

Responsibilities

Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

Manage assigned or outsourced functions.

Supervise accounting service operations.

Design an appropriate organizational structure.

Achieve service goals and objectives.

Supervise accounting operations of subsidiaries.

Ensure the effectiveness of their control systems.

Monitor the processing of transactions.

Ensure the application of policies and procedures.

Manage and maintain the chart of accounts.

Ensure the orderly filing of accounting documents.

Maintain a control system over all accounting transactions.

Produce complete financial statements on time.

Coordinate the preparation of the annual company report.

Recommend reference indicators to measure the performance of operations.

Calculate and distribute financial and operational performance indicators.

Calculate budgetary deviations and report significant issues to management.

Implement a system of management accounting reports (management costs).

Provide financial analyses as needed for capital investments.

Support pricing decisions.

Support contract negotiations.

Coordinate the transmission of information to external auditors for the annual audit.

Monitor debt levels and ensure compliance with restrictive clauses (covenants).

Comply with government reporting and tax filing requirements.

Conform to local, provincial, and federal requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Hold a CPA designation (mandatory)
• Knowledge of the construction industry (asset)
• Fully bilingual in both oral and written communication (mandatory)
• Ability to solve problems and analyze information (mandatory)
• Demonstrate daily proactivity (mandatory)

Experience with SAP software (asset)

• Excellent proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and MS Office suite (mandatory)
