Info Justice Outaouais is looking for a motivated bilingual lawyer or notary to join its multidisciplinary team as part of a new anglophone mobile legal clinic! This project aims to provide legal information to anglophone communities in the Outaouais directly at the heart of the organizations frequented by the population of the Pontiac and the Gatineau Valley, including Kitigan Zibi!

Our non-profit organization aims to promote access to justice by encouraging the participation of individuals through legal support and information services.

A GLIMPSE OF YOUR IMPACT

The lawyer or notary will work in tandem with a psychosocial intervenor to evolve and offer legal information services to anglophone populations in the Outaouais, within the framework of a brand new anglophone mobile legal clinic. The legal professional will primarily perform the following tasks:

  • Development and implementation of the mobile clinic with the psychosocial intervenor
  • Legal information meetings in English on various legal topics
  • Creation and presentation of legal information workshops and sessions
  • Creation of various tools adapted to the target audiences of the project
  • Conduct meetings in tandem as part of personalized psychosocial support
  • Collaborate with organizations serving anglophone populations in the territory
  • Travel to remote anglophone communities to make services accessible
  • Analyze the needs of the anglophone population in the Outaouais
  • Develop a tailored service offer based on the results of this analysis
  • Represent the interests of the anglophone community of the Outaouais in the development of Info Justice Outaouais services and projects

PROFILE REQUIRED

  • Be a member in good standing of the Quebec Bar or the Quebec Notaries Chamber
  • Be a versatile, resourceful, autonomous, and creative person
  • Demonstrate rigor and professionalism
  • Enjoy playing a central role in coordinating activities and following up on actions
  • Have excellent capacity for legal information dissemination
  • Have excellent mastery of English, both oral and written, and be able to maintain fluid communication in French
  • Be sensitive to the political and human issues of the field
  • Be comfortable with digital tools
  • Have a vehicle and a valid driver's license

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Annual salary starting at $68,357.25, established according to experience and the profile of the selected person
  • Contractual position until March 31, 2028, with the possibility of extension depending on funding
