Our BMR branch in Plessisville is looking to fill a position for an Assistant Manager.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The schedule may vary according to the company's needs and may require occasional evening or weekend presence.

Responsibilities

Under the responsibility of the branch manager, the Assistant Manager actively contributes to the overall performance of the branch by mobilizing the team and ensuring operational excellence. They support the manager in the daily management of activities, ensure the provision of quality customer service, support employees in their development, and participate in achieving the branch's profitability goals.

Operations

Be THE reference for the store team;

  • Mobilize, support, and guide employees to foster their engagement, autonomy, and performance;
  • Ensure the continuity of daily operations by supporting teams in various departments;
  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of the contractor service, store, and lumber yard;
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and adherence to related processes;
  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience and support teams to provide quality customer service;
  • Train, inform, and support employees in the application of processes, procedures, and operational best practices;
  • Participate in performance indicator tracking and implement necessary actions to ensure optimal branch profitability;
  • Manage the interim operations of neighboring branches as needed;
  • Participate in the management of customer complaints or dissatisfaction and ensure rapid and professional follow-up.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

  • Apply and enforce internal policies, work procedures, and health and safety standards;
  • Promote a safe work environment and quickly intervene in risky situations;
  • Actively participate in health and safety initiatives and committees.

Human Resources & Integration

  • Coordinate and participate in the onboarding, integration, and follow-up of new employees;
  • Serve as a resource person for the team, provide mentorship, and support employees in their daily tasks;
  • Manage first-level human resources issues, including conflict resolution and employee coaching, and refer more complex situations to the manager;
  • Collaborate with the manager in the application and follow-up of disciplinary measures, when required;
  • Collaborate with various network stakeholders, in relation to human resources, in the absence of the manager.

Profile

  • Natural leadership and ability to mobilize a field team;
  • Excellent communication skills, both for transmitting directives and supporting employees;
  • Strong sense of organization, capable of effectively prioritizing in a dynamic environment;
  • Rigor and operational structure: respect for procedures, attention to detail, consistency in applying standards, and implementation of action plans.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a team management role focused on continuous improvement of resources and procedures;
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in the fields of construction materials, hardware, retail, logistics, customer service, or sales;
  • Good knowledge of the construction, materials, and hardware domain (an asset);
  • Ease of working with procedures, inventories, and operational standards;
  • Proficiency in tools related to KPI analysis: Power BI, Décimal, Excel (an asset);
  • Valid driver's license.
