The plant operator will be responsible for carrying out daily operations. He or she will participate in the safe handling of anhydrous ammonia and ammonium hydroxide in the context of processes and applications aimed at meeting the needs of Airgas customers. He or she will ensure a neat, clean, and professional appearance, and will ensure that the facility complies with Airgas' established professional diligence standards. He or she will be attentive to service requests and comments, and will respond in a way that promotes understanding.

Required Responsibilities

• Loading, unloading, and emptying bulk tanks (anhydrous ammonia/ammonium hydroxide)
• Maintaining the plant in all aspects to ensure an optimal environment.
• Maintenance of trucks and trailers, including the renewal of pumps and all other process components.
• Sampling of "Cold Flo" (anhydrous ammonia).
• Production, testing, and recording of data related to ammonium hydroxide.
• Daily inventory and tracking of products.
• Recording and interpreting data to support the achievement of operational objectives.
• Ensuring that all safety guidelines are strictly followed.
• Performing plant and pipe inspections with attention to detail.
• Performing other related tasks and following reasonable instructions given by the supervisor.
• Understanding that the job description presents the main tasks, but does not constitute an exhaustive list of all the requirements of the position.
• Strictly following Airgas' established policies and performing all tasks safely, which is a condition of employment.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand safety data sheets.
• Knowledge of the field and ability to lift 60 lb required.
• Ability to work autonomously and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work overtime if necessary.
• Must be able to work with a wide range of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
• Must have basic computer skills.
