Cashier - Full Time - Polytechnique (Monday - Friday)

The Polytechnique Food Services Association (ASaP) is proud to be part of Polytechnique de Montréal. With 5 points of sale in the three buildings of the University, we offer a wide variety of menus, drinks, snacks, pastries, daily menu, grill service and our own catering service. JOB DEFINITION

We are looking for a person interested in the position of Full-Time Cashier (2 vacancies)! Under the mandate of the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the station and providing good service to Polytechnique clients.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Perform the opening and closing of the station
• Welcome customers with courtesy, diligence and efficiency.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the station and control the stocks of necessary products in the fridges and shelves.
• Prepare coffees with the coffee machine (depending on the station).
• Conduct a daily inspection of the work areas and ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
• Receive and process payments in cash, by credit card, by debit and gift cards.
• Manage the safe: close and open the cash registers, count and balance and ensure a good closing at the end of the day.
• Make bank deposits.
• Conduct inventory of products, sales and losses and ensure their rotation.
• Communicate and organize with the operations manager

Required skills and qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience as a cashier or experience in the food service industry
• Experience serving many clients at the same time
• Proficiency in written and spoken French.
• Knowledge of culinary vocabulary and food products.
• Knowledge of the main allergens related to food allergies.
• Have good knowledge of accounting.
• Excellent priority management (planning and organization of work) and sense of responsibility
• Excellent sense of collaboration, ease of communication, dynamism
• Knowledge of some sales systems
• Experience with machines such as coffee machines or refrigerators
• Attention to detail and speed of execution
• Respectful of internal and external policies.

Working conditions

• Full-time schedule from Monday to Friday
• Hourly wage
• 30 minutes of paid break
