THE ROLE AND YOUR TEAM:

Under the supervision of the stair production supervisor and as part of a team of over 15 different stair production workers, the sander plays an essential role in preparing surfaces for a variety of applications. You are responsible for operating different sandblasting equipment while respecting safety and quality standards. Your work directly contributes to the final quality of the products by ensuring careful preparation of the surfaces.

• Full-time regular position, 40 hours/week, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM;

WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL LOOK LIKE

• Verify the accuracy of stair components in orders.
• Assess surfaces to be sanded and determine the appropriate type of sanding, pressure, and technique based on the material and the finish goal.
• Use equipment such as belt sanders, sanders, and manual sanding drums.
• Assess sanding needs and schedule the 'time saver' according to established procedures;
• Assess the quality of the 'time saver' sanding and make necessary adjustments;
• Assist the team leader in maintaining and cleaning the 'time saver';
• Examine components and sanding to ensure they meet the company's quality standards.
• Correct minor defects in the wood.
• Collaborate with team members to plan sanding work, share information between departments, and ensure deadlines are met.

THE PROFILE TO SUCCEED IN THIS POSITION

• Ability to recognize the components of a staircase and have knowledge of wood – an asset;
• Ability to use different types of sandblasting equipment effectively based on specific needs;
• Ability to work standing for long periods and lift moderate weights (5 to 35 lbs);
• Ability to collaborate with other team members to achieve common goals and ensure a smooth workflow;
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
