Role Summary

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manufacturing Group Lead, the Production Support Technician is responsible for ensuring a comprehensive view of EXFO products under their responsibility, from design to end-of-life.

The role holder will develop a deep understanding of the product lines they are assigned and play a key role in technical support, communication between different teams, and resolving technical challenges throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities *Emerging Manufacturing and Production*

• Participate in new product design reviews and provide recommendations to optimize their manufacturing.
• Analyze manufacturing failures (FC) and track the first pass yield (First Pass Yield) during new product introduction (NPI) projects.
• Commission the test benches in the emerging manufacturing cell (assembly, workstation configuration, and software installation).
• Provide technical support during device debugging and track root causes and action plans.
• Prepare and communicate analysis reports to relevant teams (R&D, iTest, and industrial engineering).
• *Intersite Production Transfer*
• Audit the required elements for the manufacturing and repair of new products at EXFO's various sites.
• Develop training materials and transfer knowledge to teams, remotely or in person.
• *Corporate Production Support*
• Analyze production issues in collaboration with R&D teams and product line specialists (PSL).
• Troubleshoot test benches and contribute to resolving technical problems.

Qualifications

• DEC in electronics, physics (optics), or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of electronics and optics, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Rigor, autonomy, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in both French and English, both spoken and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; computer skills and continuous improvement tools (5S, root cause analysis) are assets.
• Availability to travel internationally as needed.
