Hours: Tuesday to

Thursday: 12 PM to 8 PM

Friday: 10 AM to 6 PM

Saturday: 9 AM to 5 PM

Location: In the Plateau Mont-Royal borough (465 avenue Mont-Royal East H2J 1W3)

The Homelessness Assistance Dialogue Service is looking for a Housing Agent for a project promoting social inclusion of homeless individuals while improving social cohabitation in the downtown Montreal, particularly in the Peter-McGill sector. You will assume the responsibilities of a street worker to become familiar with the neighborhood, the needs of the community, and the realities faced by homeless individuals.

The challenge we propose to you

• Meet local business owners and actors to establish dialogue;
• Encourage community involvement by creating spaces for dialogue and consultation (residents, business owners, other local actors);
• Offer and facilitate awareness workshops;
• Actively participate in consultation meetings;
• Build and maintain trust with homeless individuals;
• Support individuals in their processes (health, housing, financial assistance, etc.), make referrals, and ensure follow-ups;
• Maintain close collaboration with local partners;
• Ensure rigorous data entry according to established deadlines and criteria.

The person we are looking for should

• Hold a college diploma (DEC or technical) in a field related to intervention.
• Have 1 to 3 years of experience working with marginalized populations.
• Be able to build a respectful and trusting relationship with different publics.
• Demonstrate a strong ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
• Master French both orally and in writing.
• Have intermediate English skills: the employee will need to communicate in English both orally and in writing on a regular basis.
• Be proactive, autonomous, honest, and have a good adaptability.
• Be comfortable with the Windows environment and the Office suite.
• Have no legal restrictions related to employment.
