Job Objective: The supervisor participates in all aspects of the store's daily operations.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the opening and closing of the store, including arming and disarming the store alarms.
- Responsible for counting and reconciling cash drawers and cash funds at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Perform daily vault checks.
- Use cash registers and the point-of-sale system using supervisor functions in the POS, as needed.
- Manage transactions and cash registers with honesty and integrity.
- Restock shelves, barrels, tanks, buckets, and displays.
- Facilitate and assist with orders from the Distribution Center and direct store deliveries (DSD).
- Facilitate and assist with the receipt of orders from the Distribution Center and DSD, including tracking the expiration dates of received products.
- Prepare and make the daily bank deposit at the nearest TD bank.
- Submit daily and weekly documentation to Headquarters.
- Teamwork
- Coach and motivate staff to perform their tasks to the best of their ability.
- Lead staff and ensure Bulk Barn standards are followed.
- Assign breaks to staff according to company policies.
- Delegate tasks to staff, as needed.
- Follow up with staff to ensure tasks are completed correctly and in a reasonable timeframe.
- Guide and assist staff in completing their daily tasks.
- Maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
- Service Excellence
- Assist customers to exceed their expectations.
- Ensure the store is clean at all times by following cleaning schedules and completing all tasks listed, including but not limited to: floors, barrels, shelving, windows, utensils, restrooms, the outside and inside of the store.
- Promote and maintain well-being, health, and safety in the workplace by actively complying with all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Prepare and submit the daily bank deposit at the nearest TD bank.
- Any other task that may be assigned.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Food Handling or Food Safety Certificate (an asset)
- 1 - 3 years of experience working in a retail environment
- 1 year of experience working in a multi-tasking environment requiring work under pressure and time management
- Intermediate communication skills
- 1 year of experience in supervising a team
- 1 year of experience in a professional environment working with confidential information
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent.
Hours: The candidate must be available to work on a flexible schedule that includes mornings, days, and evenings, from Monday to Sunday. Approximately 30 to 35 hours per week.
