Have you had experience in general building maintenance or renovations? To ensure the peace of mind of our residents, we are looking for candidates who can handle general maintenance requests and emergencies. This position is tailored for you if you are handy with your hands, enjoy making repairs, and know your way around mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Preventive Maintenance (PM) coordinator, the PM associate is responsible for the preventive maintenance of buildings and inspections.
  • Ensure that each PM register is completed; verify and update it.
  • Inspect technical installations for the PM service and follow up on any anomalies.
  • Train maintenance associates on repairs that are part of their responsibilities.
  • Sort daily service calls (APS), assist as needed in repairs and completion of work, request a plumber or contractor for preventive work if unable to perform.
  • Perform minor plumbing, piping, and structural repairs.
  • Perform water pressure tests and any necessary repairs.
  • Ensure that contractors respect the work schedule and execute work according to contract specifications.
  • Maintain constant communication with the PM coordinator via email (photos), phone, or in person to provide the latest developments regarding projects and daily activities.
  • Perform monthly building inspections according to the checklist requirements.
  • Determine the materials and equipment needed to complete the project.
  • After completion, ensure that projects meet Boardwalk standards.
  • Follow up on safety equipment repairs such as fire doors, emergency lighting devices, etc., with maintenance associates.
  • Ensure that associates maintain a clean and organized work environment, including maintenance workshops.
  • Receive all PM emails from associates to ensure follow-up is done as needed and recognize recurring situations to minimize repairs during shifts.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the PM coordinator.
  • Be available to assist project managers with troubleshooting or repairs.
  • Professional Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in general maintenance
  • 5th Class Power Engineering certificate (technician class 5 for industrial boilers), an asset
  • Technical Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of tools, parts, general building maintenance, and building operations
  • Excellent knowledge of Boardwalk applications, including BOSS and BMPS
  • Familiarity with computer tablets is an asset
  • Non-Technical Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively in French; English is an asset
  • Ability to resolve technical issues as requested by the sector coordinator or regional director
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Experience in handling daily business operations
  • Goal-oriented and deadline-focused
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, including the ability to motivate and guide associates in a team environment
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with other associates
  • Ability to create a trusting atmosphere and establish lasting business relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize them, and establish the work priorities of others
  • Ability to undertake new challenges and question the status quo on how things are done
  • Possession of a vehicle and a clean driving record
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to participate in additional structured training
