The Technical Advisor works in a fast-paced automotive service environment where they directly communicate with customers and auto center employees to manage customer needs and expectations regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome, assist, and thank customers in a friendly manner, whether by phone or in person.
  • Provide professional and informed advice to build customer trust and loyalty.
  • Actively listen to customers to determine their concerns and issues regarding vehicle repair and maintenance.
  • Prepare work orders and review estimated costs with customers.
  • Manage customer expectations regarding when their vehicle will be ready.
  • Facilitate communication between customers and auto center employees.
  • Schedule maintenance appointments.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements/Skills

  • Knowledge of automotive mechanics
  • Ability to work shifts (day, evening, weekend, and holidays)
  • Friendly and customer-focused
  • Ability to perform physical efforts, including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and transporting merchandise, using a ladder, performing twists, turning, and reaching for objects
  • Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt, and handle difficult situations and make decisions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, delegate, and follow up on daily tasks
  • Valid driver's license in the province of employment
  • Good practical knowledge of COSTAR (asset)
  • Experience in a similar position (asset)
