Job Overview

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the administrative and technical aspects of a project's construction, managing a team of field engineers and cost engineers. District Overview

Eastern Canada District projects include highways, bridges, public transportation infrastructure, mining site development and open pit mining operations, hydroelectric plants, wind farms, dams, and industrial facilities. We serve the construction and mining sectors and are located in Eastern Canada.

Location

This position is based in the city of Quebec for the Quebec Tramway – Preparation Works project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage project planning and scheduling activities
  • Supervise revenue forecasts, cost tracking, and cash flow analysis
  • Coordinate temporary works engineering and permanent design quality control
  • Support project closure processes and documentation
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and represent the project team professionally
  • Assist in operations planning and execution strategies
  • Administer contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance and performance
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and field personnel
  • Ensure coordination and tracking of files with different divisions and departments outside Quebec, ensuring clear, accurate, and effective communication, both orally and in writing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience and training in project or field engineering
  • Must be a P.Eng. licensed engineer or a registered member in training, or eligible for registration
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in construction
  • Practical knowledge and ability to direct the operation of at least the following management systems: accounts payable/accounts receivable, material control, estimation, work and subcontract cost updates
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities in the following areas: leadership and people management, communication (oral and written), planning, organization, delegation, and teaching and mentoring
  • Ability to relocate and travel as needed by the company
  • Ability to establish excellence standards in leadership, safety, quality, and productivity for subordinates
  • Ability to access all areas of the construction site

  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal business hours to organize and complete work on time. Perform overtime and work weekends if necessary.
