THE ROLE

As a Back of House Manager, you will be responsible for all activities taking place in the back of the house. This includes managing incoming deliveries, preparing outgoing transfers, managing a team, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of stock according to company standards. This is a key role within the store leadership team, reporting to the Store Manager and having a line of communication with the Back of House Manager at JD Canada (support office). Your ability to make quick decisions and adapt to the ever-changing business needs will be tested daily! The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of urgency, be autonomous and motivated, and have a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Lead the daily operations of the back of the house (BOH). Ensure precise labeling, logical placement, and overall order and cleanliness of the back of the house.
• Manage the execution of daily online orders, which involves selecting, packing, and shipping orders directly to our customers.
• Communicate daily with the customer service, support office managers, and other stores via Slack, email, or other channels.
• Reduce store theft by identifying stock discrepancies and resolving issues to ensure optimal stock and sales levels.
• Manage store supplies, ensuring the retail store has everything it needs for its daily/weekly operations.
• Lead by example while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment for the entire team.
• Encourage and promote personal growth within the team.
• As a member of the leadership team, you will need to thoroughly understand and work within the boundaries of the company's guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Assist in the onboarding and training of new employees.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of products, as well as current or upcoming trends.

Skills, Experience, and Behaviors Sought

• 3+ years of experience in stock and/or distribution center.
• 2+ years of experience in team management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and task-oriented.
• Must have a strong sense of urgency. Be both proactive and organized.
• Availability for full-time hours – standard shifts starting as early as 8 am, as well as late evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs.
• Proven experience in supervising, training, and developing team members.
• Excellent cognitive and mathematical skills, including problem analysis, decision-making, and financial analysis.
• High level of ethics, values, integrity, and trust.
• Openness to feedback and willingness to develop.

• Be passionate and knowledgeable about streetwear and sneaker culture.
• Experience with G-Suite, Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets is an asset.
• Experience with the Jesta POS system, Shopify, and the Slack platform is an asset.
