As the Corporate Accounting and Company Controls Director, you oversee and analyze the consolidation of the group's financial statements as well as complex accounting issues, you provide advisory support in accounting to various areas of finance, you lead and contribute to ad hoc projects, you oversee the preparation of audit material and you ensure compliance with Canadian PCGR requirements. What does a typical day look like?
- Direct the preparation of monthly and annual consolidated results (balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow, allocations and intercompany transactions).
- Coordinate the group and subsidiary financial statements (+20), working with external auditors for year-end audits.
- Provide support to subsidiary accounting teams in the preparation of monthly and annual consolidated results.
- Participate in the presentation of consolidated financial statements to the Chief Financial Officer with the Vice-President, Corporate Finance.
- Actively participate in the preparation of documentation for transfer pricing within the group.
- Participate in the maintenance of the integrity of the consolidation system, chart of accounts and other working files.
- Develop, implement and maintain a registry of accounting policies for the group;
- Provide interpretation and guidance on complex accounting issues in compliance with Canadian PCGR and the company's financial policies.
- Participate in related projects and mandates as needed.
- This is a primarily in-person position based in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Employees are required to work primarily from our Sherbrooke office.
What skills and experience are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in accounting;
- CPA designation;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate accounting;
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in audit mandates;
- Bilingualism in English and French, both oral and written;
- Solid understanding of Canadian PCGR, US PCGR and other emerging standards;
- Experience working with an international organization with significant transactions;
- Ability to present financial data in a meaningful and useful form to senior decision-makers;
- Strong knowledge of accounting and controls;
- General understanding of corporate tax and Canadian transfer pricing rules.
