- Develop and review single-line diagrams, layout plans, cable calculations, loss and short-circuit studies;
- Select and specify MV equipment (cables, switchgear, transformers, protection, disconnect equipment);
- Ensure integration of the collector network with the substation and point of interconnection;
- Collaborate closely with civil engineering, environmental, substation, and interconnection teams;
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards in Quebec, as well as the requirements of wind farm owners and operators;
- Apply and promote the best practices in wind farm design, derived from Canadian and international projects;
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers and designers;
- Support construction, testing, and commissioning phases as needed.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in medium voltage electrical network design;
- Significant experience in the design of collector networks for wind projects;
- Solid understanding of wind farm design principles (performance, reliability, constructability, maintainability);
- Familiarity with wind design practices in Canada and internationally;
- Good knowledge of applicable standards (CSA, IEC, IEEE, local utility standards);
- Technical leadership and ability to make structural engineering decisions;
- Excellent communication, multidisciplinary coordination, and teamwork skills.
- Rigor, autonomy, and practical engineering project sense.
- Strong French language skills (working language) and good communication skills (oral and written) in English*.
