Job Overview

The district is actively recruiting Civil Technicians based in Quebec, QC. The role is primarily focused on creating 3D models with AutoCAD Civil 3D and producing take-offs from the models to support the project team. We value excellent proficiency in AutoCAD / Civil 3D and remain flexible on the level of experience: junior and graduating profiles are considered.

District Overview

The Eastern Canada District projects include highways, bridges, public transit, mining development sites, open pit mines, hydroelectric plants, wind farms, dams, and industrial projects. The district serves the construction and mining industries and operates in the eastern region of Canada. We are an innovative team of design engineers supporting projects across all sectors of the business. Location

This role will be based in our Quebec, QC office.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily office-based work
  • Create and update 3D models in AutoCAD Civil 3D (corridors, surfaces, profiles, networks, etc.) according to project standards
  • Produce take-offs from models and ensure data consistency
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop plans, preliminary and final details, and revise deliverables as needed
  • Contribute to CAD file management (templates, layers, references, layout) and adherence to production practices
  • Produce and format documents using MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering diploma (DEC/AEC) or related training; relevant experience in drawing/modeling: an asset
  • Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD; strong knowledge of Civil 3D required (3D modeling)
  • Ability to produce take-offs from models and work with digital data/models
  • Read and understand construction plans and documents; attention to detail and quality of deliverables
  • Knowledge of CAD production practices (templates, external references, layer management, layout)
  • Knowledge of MicroStation or OpenRoads: an asset
  • Experience in transportation infrastructure or civil engineering: an asset
  • Basic skills on Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in French is required
  • Knowledge of English is an asset to facilitate collaboration with our internal teams outside of Quebec or with clients
  • Ability to adapt to changes and openness to learn
