ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
The YWCA of Montreal, supported by its Foundation, provides services to women and girls to enable them to participate and contribute to society to the best of their abilities. We also work with community actors to raise awareness about issues of exclusion, social inequality, and gender, as well as all forms of violence against women and girls, thereby improving practices.
Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Residential Services Manager - Community Life is responsible for the planning, organization, management, and continuous improvement of the residential services under their supervision.
They manage human, financial, material, and information resources in their sector and ensure a safe, inclusive environment that promotes autonomy, civic participation, and community living.
As a mobilizing leader, they support their team in achieving organizational goals, ensure the quality of interventions, and contribute to the development of residential services, in accordance with the YWCA of Montreal's feminist intersectional approach and strategic orientations.
Specifically, the responsibilities include:
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
- Manage, mobilize, support, and develop team members.
- Plan workforce needs and participate in recruitment, onboarding, integration, and retention of staff and interns.
- Set performance objectives, conduct regular follow-ups, and support skill development.
- Manage workplace relations and ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and practices.
- Foster a motivating, collaborative, and respectful work environment.
RESIDENTIAL SERVICES AND COMMUNITY LIFE MANAGEMENT
- Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate activities, programs, and services under their responsibility.
- Develop programming that promotes community life, social mixing, mutual aid, and residents' power to act.
- Ensure the proper functioning of participation instances, including the tenant committee and selection committee.
- Ensure the quality, consistency, and continuous improvement of interventions and services.
- Ensure compliance with the intervention framework, policies, and housing protocols.
- Intervene or support the team in complex, crisis, or conflict situations.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety of living environments, and compliance with regulations.
FINANCIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT
- Develop and track operational budgets and projects.
- Track rent, payment agreements, and administrative files related to housing.
- Produce reports, statistics, financial statements, and any required documentation for funders.
- Participate in the development of new projects and funding searches.
- Optimize the use of human, financial, and material resources.
STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT AND PARTNERSHIPS
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of residential services.
- Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with community organizations, public institutions, and government partners.
- Represent the YWCA of Montreal at various instances, consultation tables, and committees.
- Act as a liaison with the FOHM and other partners regarding housing-related matters.
- Monitor housing social, community life, and emerging client needs to recommend improvement paths.

- REQUIRED SKILLS
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in management, social work, community intervention, or related field, or any other relevant specialization and/or training.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in management roles with team management responsibilities.
- Experience in managing residential services, programs, or living environments, ideally in social or community housing.
- Experience in budget management, administrative tracking, and financial reporting.
- Experience in project management, service development, or funding search.
- Experience in developing partnerships with community, institutional, and government stakeholders.
- Good knowledge of the realities faced by women and families in vulnerable situations.
- Good knowledge of housing social, mental health, violence, and community intervention issues.
- Knowledge of feminist, intersectional, anti-oppressive, and trauma-sensitive approaches.
- Knowledge of best practices in change management and continuous improvement, an asset.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Excellent French and English language skills, both oral and written.
- Communications are conducted in both languages, as clients are both French- and English-speaking.
- Knowledge of a third language, an asset.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

- EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
- Duration: Indefinite-term contract
- Hours: 35 hours/week
- Start date: Immediately
- Salary: Starting at $32.74/hour
