Responsibilities

  • Perform compilation, review, and audit tasks; provide accounting and tax services.
  • Prepare files for new clients and newly incorporated companies; manage multiple files and conduct inventories.
  • Conduct debtor, creditor, asset acquisition, disposal, and payroll tests with clients.
  • Summarize the client's current financial situation by gathering information and preparing the balance sheet, income statement, and other relevant reports.
  • Assess the appropriateness of supporting evidence for charges, revenues, asset acquisitions, creditors, debtors, and prepayments.
  • Examine and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial statements, documents, and reports.
  • Prepare financial statements and prepare entries to be included in the accounts.
  • Prepare correspondence, technical reports, summaries for clients, and presentations highlighting findings, facts, and key points related to the mandate.
  • Collaborate with the mission team and build relationships with client resources.
  • Be willing to travel, if necessary.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business or business administration (preferably with a major in accounting or finance)
  • Enrollment in the Professional Development Program (PDP) of CPAs
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in accounting
  • Practical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Experience with accounting and tax software, an asset
