Welder - Mechanic - Heavy Vehicles

About the Position

Techno Diesel is looking for a versatile, resourceful, and independent Welder-Mechanic for Heavy Vehicles, capable of working in both metal fabrication and heavy mechanics.

We are seeking a person who enjoys working on a variety of projects, solving problems, and working in a non-routine environment. Here, versatility, initiative, and resourcefulness are highly valued.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform metal fabrication work including MIG/TIG welding (steel, stainless steel, and aluminum), cutting, adjusting, bending, and assembling;
• Carry out heavy mechanics interventions on trucks, trailers, bins, and specialized equipment;
• Diagnose and repair basic to complex mechanical issues;
• Participate in the installation, modification, and commissioning of equipment;
• Read and interpret plans, technical drawings, and specifications;
• Collaborate with the team to solve various technical issues;
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Required Skills

• Good experience in welding and metal fabrication;
• Relevant experience in heavy vehicle or equipment mechanics;
• Ability to diagnose problems and find solutions;
• Versatility, autonomy, and initiative;
• Ability to work on varied, sometimes complex, projects;
• Positive attitude, team spirit, and reliability.

Assets

• Experience as a millwright, industrial mechanic, or heavy equipment technician;
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electricity, and pneumatic systems;
• Ability to train or support colleagues as needed.
