YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the unit head, the auxiliary nurse actively contributes to the monitoring of the residents' health status and the secure administration of care, in a person-centered approach and adapted to the geriatric clientele.

More specifically, he or she is called upon to:

• Collect clinical data following the appearance of a new symptom or a fall.
• Intervene with the attendants to gather relevant information about the residents' health status.
• Link signs and symptoms to pathologies and the resident's overall health status.
• Monitor and follow up on the resident's clinical data.
• Use clinical judgment to establish links between the resident's status and the required follow-ups.
• Formulate suggestions for care or interventions adapted to the needs of the geriatric clientele.
• Administer vaccines, PRN medications, and the entire medication of the residents, in accordance with the applicable rules.
• Follow up on the introduction of a new medication or treatment.
• Observe, report, and record any sign or symptom of deterioration in the residents' health status.

YOUR PROFILE AND YOUR BACKGROUND

• Hold a professional studies diploma (DEP) in health, assistance, and nursing care.
• Be a member in good standing of the Order of Auxiliary Nurses and Nurses of Quebec (OIIAQ).
• Hold a valid RCR certification.
• Have experience with the geriatric clientele (an asset).
• Master French, both orally and in writing.
