For over 35 years, we have been supporting people living with severe mental health issues, often in situations or at risk of homelessness, to help them regain a sense of agency, access stable housing, and build the life they wish to live.

We are therefore looking for two passionate community support workers to join the Anchoring Service.

About the Anchoring Service

The Anchoring Service offers intensive support in the living environment to people living with mental health issues, substance use issues, or concurrent disorders, often in situations or at risk of homelessness. The people we support may also face social integration challenges, judicialization, or housing maintenance issues.

The goal is to provide intensive, flexible, and personalized support to help people achieve:

• Residential stability;
• Improved mental health;
• Reduced harm from substance use;
• Development of a sense of agency;
• Social integration;
• Gradual reintegration into a chosen life trajectory.

Support is primarily provided in the person's living environment (home, street, cafes, partner organizations, hospitals, CLSCs, etc.) and is based on a proximity approach, harm reduction, recovery, and respect for self-determination.

No two days are the same.

Your Role

As a community support worker, you will be responsible for:

• Building a trusting relationship with the people we support;
• Conducting meetings in the living environment;
• Developing a support plan with the people we support, centered on their goals and aspirations;
• Supporting the people in achieving their goals;
• Assisting the people in their medical, psychosocial, judicial, administrative, and housing-related matters;
• Intervening in crisis situations when necessary;
• Applying recognized approaches, including recovery, harm reduction, and Housing First;
• Collaborating with health and social services partners and community organizations;
• Participating in clinical meetings and interdisciplinary discussions;
• Documenting progress notes and clinical records;
• Contributing to the continuous development of the organization's practices.
• Desired Profile

Requirements

• DEC or equivalent in a relevant field (social work, psychoeducation, special education, criminology, psychology, or any other relevant training);
• Experience in mental health, substance use, homelessness, or community intervention (a significant asset);
• Good knowledge of harm reduction, recovery, and Housing First approaches (an asset);
• Valid driver's license (an asset);
• Good knowledge of the Montreal health and community resources network (an asset);
• Excellent French language skills (spoken and written).

• Starting salary of $30.49/hour
