Hiring Unit: School of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy – Professors Aliki Thomas and Sara Ahmed

The School of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy at McGill University invites applications for a full-time one-year postdoctoral fellowship. The selected individual will join a large-scale, interdisciplinary research program examining the role of rehabilitation as an essential component of health and social services systems in Canada.

The selected individual will contribute to various research activities, including:

• supporting ethical approval applications and study implementation;
• contributing to the design and administration of a pan-Canadian survey;
• coordinating activities with national partners and stakeholders across Canada;
• participating in the planning and hosting of a national symposium.
• conducting quantitative and qualitative data analyses;
• preparing scientific manuscripts, reports, knowledge mobilization products, and scientific presentations;
• contributing to the development of funding applications, including the preparation of large-scale national grant applications.
• performing administrative tasks and other related tasks (e.g., tracking budgets).

Funding is provided by an IRSC grant. The start date is as soon as possible. As part of this postdoctoral fellowship, the selected individual will need to submit salary and postdoctoral funding applications to external organizations during the 2026 fall funding competitions to support the continuation of their fellowship.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a doctorate (Ph.D.) in rehabilitation sciences, health services research, health policy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nursing sciences, or another relevant discipline in health or social sciences. Experience in health services research, knowledge mobilization, health policy, survey methods, mixed methods research, or stakeholder engagement will be considered an asset.

The selected individual must demonstrate:

• an excellent academic record;
• a strong publication record, proportional to their career stage;
• excellent written and oral communication skills;
• experience working in interdisciplinary research teams;
• strong project management and organizational skills;
• the ability to work autonomously while supervising research students and trainees.
• proficiency in French spoken and written is an asset.

Annual Salary: $48,000.00
