Responsibilities

• Select, measure, cut, bore, and thread pipes
• Connect pipelines to feed tanks, main water lines, pumps, compressors, and control devices
• Install collars, supports, and stirrups to secure pipelines, sprinklers, and fire-fighting equipment using manual or mechanical tools
• Install valves, alarms, and related equipment
• Assemble pipe sections using welding and brazing equipment
• Check the tightness of the network using pneumatic or hydraulic devices
• Clean and maintain pipelines and fittings as well as the drainage system
• Check the tightness of the network using the appropriate equipment
• Assemble pipe sections by making soldered, brazed, threaded, or glued joints
• Read and interpret plans, maps, drawings, and specifications

Competency Titles

• Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
• SIMDUT (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems) Certificate

Additional Information
