Motivated to manage the forestry of the beautiful Chaudière-Appalaches region?

The Appalachian Forest Management Cooperative (CGFA) is looking for their next forest management director for the organization that employs nearly 45 people!

You will be responsible for

  • Planning and supervising forestry operations: Coordinate all field interventions (reforestation, land preparation, logging, clearings) in public and private forests.
  • Technical, geomatics, and regulatory management: Ensure the quality of work using technological tools and ensure strict compliance with forestry laws by liaising with the MRNF and authorities.
  • Environmental and certification management: Ensure the application of environmental norms (PGES, CEAF) and the organization's forestry certifications.
  • Human resources management: Supervise, recruit, and evaluate foremen and field teams.
  • Administrative tracking and financial management: Participate in budget preparation, track operational costs, optimize equipment use, and produce activity reports.
  • Partner relations and business development: Maintain trust with clients, owners, and partners, represent the Cooperative at regional committees, and seek new business opportunities (biomass, consulting services).

You will stand out if you have

  • A bachelor's degree in forest management and environments;
  • At least 3 years of experience in forestry operations management;
  • Membership in the OIFQ;
  • Knowledge of the cooperative environment (asset).

To ensure success in your role, we offer the following working conditions:

  • A permanent position;
  • A 43-hour/week schedule, from 7:00
  • AM to 5:00 PM Monday to
  • Thursday and from 7:00
  • AM to 12:00 PM on Friday;
  • A salary starting at $34/hour, depending on experience;
  • Access to remote work as needed;
  • Access to a RVER, contributed to at 3% by the employer, as well as collective insurance paid at 50%;
  • Vacation weeks depending on acquired experience;
  • Access to a network in public and private forests that includes expertise in all aspects of the forestry industry (financial, management, technical, operational).
