Provide expert advice and counsel on talent acquisition (search and recruitment strategies) by mobilizing various industries, business units, and leaders to implement talent management strategies and support the industry or business unit strategy. Perform specific operational or strategic tasks to produce results or minimize risks.

  • Develop various types and scopes of change management plans; lead various change management activities, including assessing readiness, planning, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of initiatives, or participate in these activities.
  • Develop talent acquisition solutions and make recommendations based on an understanding of business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Advise and guide the assigned industry or business unit on the implementation of talent management solutions (e.g., search or recruitment).
  • Conduct analyses and identify trends to better understand target customer segments and unique recruitment opportunities.
  • Develop innovative search or recruitment strategies for specific assignments and BMO's current needs, and recruit candidates for more complex positions that may require external search support, if needed.
  • Identify emerging problems, trends, and needs internally and externally to inform business strategy development and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide context in the design, development, and implementation of talent acquisition solutions (e.g., search or recruitment strategies).
  • Lead and influence coaching and capability building on the latest recruitment techniques and tools across BMO, particularly with hiring managers and vendors.
  • Establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistency among stakeholders.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Break down strategic problems and analyze data and information to provide ideas and recommendations on talent acquisition.
  • Collect data and format it to produce regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
  • Monitor and track performance and address issues.
  • Focus primarily on an industry or business unit within BMO; adopt a broader organizational orientation as needed.
  • Exercise judgment to identify problems, determine their causes, and resolve them within established limits.
  • Work independently on a wide range of complex tasks, which may represent unique situations.
  • Broader tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Take measured risks while protecting the Bank by applying our risk management framework in the execution of your functions, in accordance with our risk management culture and approved risk appetite, making informed risk-based decisions that align with business strategy, protect assets, and comply with applicable policy documents (frameworks, policies, standards, procedures, and related documents), laws, and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Generally four to six years of relevant professional experience with a post-secondary degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Appropriate human resources title.
  • Previous experience and demonstrated results in recruitment or staffing – advanced skills.
  • Technical skills acquired through education or work experience.
  • Oral and written communication skills – advanced skills.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills – advanced skills.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the position and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time positions will be calculated on a prorated basis of the number of regularly worked hours. For commission-based roles, the above salary represents BMO Financial Group's target for the first year in the position.

The total compensation offered by BMO will vary based on the type of compensation associated with the position and may include performance bonuses, discretionary bonuses, and other benefits and rewards.
