The Software Architecture Advisor is responsible for designing, evolving, and integrating information systems architectures. They work at both a strategic and operational level to ensure the consistency, performance, and longevity of technological solutions, aligning with business needs. They play a key role in defining technological orientations, particularly in service-oriented and component-oriented architectures.
Functions and Responsibilities
- Design and evolve software architectures integrating application, information, technology, and organizational dimensions.
- Develop integration architectures and define technological standards.
- Participate in strategic studies (opportunity analyses, IT orientations, etc.).
- Ensure alignment of solutions with business needs and organizational orientations.
- Implement and document software architectures using tools and repositories (e.g., Enterprise Architect, Macroscope).
- Mentor development teams in applying best architecture practices.
- Design solutions based on service-oriented (SOA) and component-oriented architectures.
- Ensure integration with existing systems, including relational database environments.
- Participate in the evaluation, selection, and evolution of technologies.
Ensure the quality, security, and performance of implemented systems.
Qualities Required for Success in This Role
Profile Requirements
- Hold a university degree (Bachelor's) in computer science, organizational information systems administration, or a relevant discipline recognized by the Ministry of Education or equivalent;
- Possess fifteen (15) years of experience in a development or maintenance context of information systems;
- Possess five (5) years of experience as a software architecture advisor in development or maintenance of information systems;
- Possess five (5) years of relevant experience in designing new information systems as a software integration architecture advisor.
- Specific Profile Requirements
- Have conducted system architecture and integration activities in at least two (2) system development mandates, covering application, information, technology, and work organization dimensions;
- Possess two (2) years of experience in strategic-level architecture or studies (opportunity evaluation, etc.) in the IT domain;
- Possess two (2) years of experience in a technological environment comparable to that of the Ministry;
- Have designed software architecture in at least three (3) system design mandates integrating a component-oriented approach;
- Possess two (2) years of experience in service-oriented architecture;
- Have conducted software architecture activities with a relational database in at least two (2) development mandates;
- Possess one (1) year of experience in documenting system software architectures via the Enterprise Architect repository or Macroscope deliverables.
CGI offers a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The calculation of this range depends on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, and professional licenses and certifications. Salary decisions depend on the particularities of each case. A reasonable estimate of this salary range is between $70,000 and $135,000. This position is vacant.
