Description

As a Geomatics Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions. You will facilitate workshops to gather user needs and analyze business requirements, while performing visualization and whiteboard activities. You will lead and contribute to the preparation of various documents, including project definitions, roadmaps, recommendation reports, data governance strategies, detailed design documents, and technical specifications.

Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Design applications and GIS solutions;
  • Lead/animate user needs collection/workshops and business requirements analysis, and perform solution visualization and whiteboard activities;
  • Lead and/or assist in the preparation of documents such as project definition documents, roadmap documents, recommendation reports, data governance strategies, detailed design documents, and technical specifications;
  • Participate in activities such as application demonstrations, technical reviews, prototype development, and solution ...;
  • Provide technical expertise in the configuration, development, and implementation of client solutions;
  • Lead and participate in regular communications with clients, peers, and project team members to manage expectations, communicate project progress, and ensure success;
  • Contribute to the development of project plans, activity lists, and project scopes for assigned projects;
  • Proactively pursue self-learning on all relevant topics.

Qualifications Required to Succeed in this Role

  • Degree in Geomatics Engineering, Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (Geography, Urban Planning);
  • Experience as a GIS Architect, particularly with ESRI ArcGIS or equivalent solution;
  • More than ten (10) years of experience in computing or GIS, including more than five (5) years in GIS solution consulting and development;
  • Skills in technological solution analysis and evaluation, GIS architecture and strategy development, and UML and modeling tool usage;
  • Experience with client/server/online applications; Bilingual (English/French).

CGI offers a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The calculation of this range depends on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, and professional licenses and certifications. Salary decisions depend on the particulars of each case. A reasonable estimate of this salary range is between $70,000 and $135,000. This position is open.
