The role
We are looking for a Financial Controller who will play a key role within the executive team. This person will oversee all aspects of the company's finances, its accounting infrastructure, and some administrative procedures to support and guide the organization's rapid growth.
Reporting directly to the president of O.A.M. Aluminium Inc., the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all operations of the accounting and finance department, as well as some operational activities related to achieving the company's growth objectives.
The ideal candidate possesses relevant experience in a similar role, along with strong strategic leadership, financial management, business analysis, and communication skills. They will play a major role in the company's development and collaborate closely with the president to define the organization's strategic direction and budgets.
The Financial Controller will also be responsible for coordinating accounting and finance activities, producing accurate financial reports and in-depth management analyses, as well as establishing and maintaining rigorous accounting and budgetary procedures by distribution center.
Key responsibilities
Financial reporting and accounting
- Manage the production of financial reports and analyses within the accounting department;
- Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and ensure their accuracy;
- Supervise the daily operations of the accounting service;
- Present financial and budgetary analyses by distribution center to the executive team and formulate recommendations to optimize profitability;
- Calculate and track financial commitments with banks;
- Contribute to the establishment of the cost of goods sold and the analysis of sales prices.
Financial management
- Prepare and follow the various steps of the budgeting process;
- Prepare and follow cash flow statements;
- Supervise the monthly accounting cycle;
- Collaborate with owners in the implementation of internal controls;
- Respond to requests from government authorities.
Team development and management reporting
- Develop and mentor the accounting and finance team;
- Participate in the procurement, negotiation, and coverage of raw materials, including aluminum and currencies;
- Establish and/or produce periodic management reports and performance indicators;
- Follow up on various administrative files, including research and development (R&D) projects, grants, ERP integration, and training.
- Required qualifications
Education, certifications, and licenses
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field, combined with several years of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education, professional experience, and personal development;
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation will be considered an asset;
- A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) will be considered an asset.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance;
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the manufacturing, raw materials, or processing sector, considered an important asset;
- Strong knowledge of cost of goods sold, inventory management, negotiation, risk coverage, and process optimization;
- Proficiency in accounting software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems;
- Knowledge of the ERP system Acumatica will be considered an important asset.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English.
- Salary: $75,000 to $95,000 per year
