Description

Normand Toupin CPA inc. is a growing accounting firm specializing in supporting Quebec SMEs. We are currently developing a service dedicated to exporting to France and Europe, including the integration of European accounting practices and the establishment of an international business network with the goal of enabling the firm to produce French-compliant financial statements.

In this context, we are looking for a Specialist in European Accounting Practices and Market Development to support our expansion and train our team on French standards.

Main Responsibilities 1. Financial Analysis

Verify the maintenance of client books and ensure the compliance of accounting data.

Analyze financial ratios and formulate strategic recommendations, particularly in relation to the potential for exporting to France and Europe.

Use Sage 50, QuickBooks, and Odoo for analysis and validation.

2. Preparation of Financial Statements

Prepare regularization entries (depreciation, capitalizable items, long-term debts, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses).

Compile accounts and produce financial statements according to professional standards.

Use Caseware, Logis, Paradigme, and Auditsoft for production and certification.

3. Corporate Income Tax Returns

Prepare corporate income tax returns using DTmax software.

4. Individual Income Tax Returns

Prepare individual tax returns, including optimization of French origin declarations.

Transfer knowledge to the production group (5 Canadian employees).

5. Market Development and Opening of a Branch in France

Support the managing partner in planning the deployment in France.

Develop a business network in France and Europe, particularly in collaboration with the Maison du Québec in Paris.

Create new strategic contacts to support international growth.

Participate in the writing of the business plan and the marketing of services for exporting companies.

Contribute to the establishment of the new service for supporting exports to Europe.

6. Knowledge Transfer and Internal Training

Train a team of Canadian professionals on European accounting practices.

Develop training content and teach the use of Auditsoft software.

7. Optimization of the Accounting Firm

Participate in updating the firm's rules and procedures book.

Act as an ERP specialist for the integration and optimization of internal processes, including the use of artificial intelligence solutions.

Job Requirements

Education

University degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

Have completed or be in the process of completing the DSCG or equivalent knowledge.

Experience

At least 12 months of experience in French and Canadian accounting, audit, or certification.

At least 6 months of experience in Canadian accounting practices, including the complete accounting cycle.

Experience in business process improvement.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in software: Sage 50, QuickBooks, Odoo, Caseware, Logis, Paradigme, Auditsoft, DTmax.

In-depth knowledge of French accounting standards and business law.

Ability to train and transfer knowledge.

Personal Skills

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work autonomously and in a team.

Sense of organization and professional rigor.

Comfort in a context of growth and international development.

Working Conditions

Full-time permanent position, entirely in-person from Monday to Friday. No possibility of remote work.

Salary: 36$/hour

No social benefits, 2 weeks of vacation after one year.
