Under the authority of the Director of Community Services, the incumbent of this position acts as the responsible party for the planning, organization, and deployment of events and activities.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Support the Community Services team in preparing activities and events;
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and implement activities and events, including beach party, national day celebration, Santa Claus parade, recess week activities, Halloween activities, and any other municipal event;
- Actively participate in several team projects, as well as provide support on related projects;
- Lead, guide, supervise, motivate, and collaborate with volunteers and partners;
- Prepare and set up equipment and arrange event sites;
- Prepare all necessary administrative documentation for the implementation of activities and events;
- Be present on-site and manage logistics during events;
- Coordinate the citizen participatory budget process, including planning, tracking steps, coordinating stakeholders, and necessary documentation;
- Manage the administrative processing of all event requests on the territory and ensure their compliance;
- Evaluate event financial support requests and provide recommendations;
- Monitor agreements, protocols, authorizations, and commitments applicable to their field of expertise;
- Support organizations and promoters in organizing their activities and events;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of practices, tools, and processes related to event organization;
- Perform any other related tasks as requested by their supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- College or university degree (leisure, event management, cultural, recreation studies, or other relevant fields) or any other combination of studies and relevant experience;
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience in the events field;
- Valid driver's license (Class 5) and access to a vehicle;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and technological tools (web, social media, and videoconferencing);
- Excellent French language skills, both oral and written;
- Excellent relational and communication skills: team spirit;
- Ability to adapt to diverse clientele and environments;
- Autonomy, initiative, and organizational skills;
- Ability to work on multiple files simultaneously;
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during events.
Working Conditions
- Salary scale between $29.08 and $36.35;
- Variable working hours, averaging 35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as needed or during events;
- Main workplace: Pierre-Provencher Arena.
