Do you enjoy telling the story behind human projects? Are you comfortable with both Canva and Facebook, able to switch from a poster to an Instagram story, and then to a newsletter? Are you looking for a flexible, vibrant, and deeply human workplace where your creativity and autonomy will make a real difference? We are looking for someone who wants to grow with us. The position starts at 21 hours per week within the framework of an initial 12-month contract, but we want to welcome someone who will quickly take their place and contribute to the growth of our communications. Depending on the needs of the organization and the evolution of the role, responsibilities, working hours, and mandate may evolve.
The Granby Volunteer Action Centre (CAB) is a community organization well-rooted in the community for nearly 60 years, whose mission is to promote volunteer action and respond to the needs of the community.
In brief:
The Granby CAB is looking for a creative, resourceful, and organized person to contribute to its daily communications and several impactful projects, including the celebrations of our 60th anniversary, which will begin in December. Reporting to the Communications and Philanthropic Development Manager, the selected person will actively participate in the promotion of our services, activities, and projects, both online and on the ground. Comfortable with digital tools, they demonstrate autonomy, judgment, and initiative. They can manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate effectively with their colleagues. Like the rest of our team, they stand out for their sense of initiative, integrity, and ability to adapt quickly in an environment where days rarely resemble each other.
Daily Role:
- Regular Communications (75%) Create various visual and promotional tools using Canva (posters, publications, social media visuals, business cards, flyers, etc.); write and layout the organization's newsletter; manage social media, primarily Facebook and LinkedIn (posts, stories, content scheduling, event coverage, etc.); contribute to the maintenance and development of the organization's digital presence; write various external contents and communications (press releases, promotional texts, publications, etc.); take photos and produce visual content during activities and events; participate in the organization and maintenance of communication tools (photo bank, content calendar, promotional materials, etc.); ensure the current update of the WordPress website (news, rolling lunch calendar, job postings, simple content modifications, text overhauls, etc.).
- Special Projects (25%) Actively participate in the organization and communications surrounding the Volunteer Action Week, a major event for our organization that takes place every year in April; collaborate on the creation of promotional tools and content for various campaigns and special activities; contribute to the communications surrounding the 60th anniversary of the Granby CAB in 2026-2027; provide support for the writing, layout, and distribution of the annual report; participate in several other special projects throughout the year. Depending on the interests and skills of the selected person, additional responsibilities may be entrusted to them, particularly in relation to partnerships and sponsorships.
The person holding this position is
- Curious and proactive, they enjoy taking initiatives, proposing ideas, and finding solutions
- Creative, resourceful, and very autonomous, they know how to take their place and advance their files
- Very comfortable with computer tools (Microsoft 365: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint), communication digital platforms (Canva, WordPress, Facebook (Meta), Mailchimp, LinkedIn), and capable of quickly learning new systems
- Agile and adaptable, they are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate flexibility
- Organized and meticulous, with a good eye for detail
- Positive, sociable, skilled at adapting to people and situations, they demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills based on respect and team spirit
Qualifications and required skills
- Impeccable mastery of written and spoken French
- Relevant experience in communications, marketing, social media, content creation
- Marked autonomy with computer tools and ease with artificial intelligence tools
- Assets: experience in the community or event sector, in the creation of short videos for social media, or in a fundraising campaign context
What we offer
- An initial 12-month contract at 21 hours per week, designed as an evolving position, with a real possibility of increasing responsibilities, working hours, and mandate duration, depending on the organization's needs and the development of the selected person
- A flexible schedule that allows for the reconciliation of work and personal life, with the possibility of remote work, a presence at the office on Wednesday, and the rest of the hours to be distributed over a 4.5-day week (our offices are closed on Friday afternoons!)
- At certain times of the year, particularly during the Volunteer Action Week in April, a greater availability will be required, but these additional hours, occasionally in the evening or on weekends, will be scheduled in advance and can be taken as leave during quieter periods
- A salary between $23.50 and $26.00 per hour, depending on experience
- 4.5 health days (for the duration of the contract)
- 2 weeks of paid holidays during the holiday season
