Cashier, Key Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service at the store checkout:
• Accurately record customer transactions in the electronic cash register, main network cash register, and self-service cash register.
• Ensure the replenishment of merchandise in the checkout area.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and guidelines.
• Ensure the checkout work area is clean and organized.
• Ensure best practices in loss prevention are followed.
• Ensure compliance with all policies when selling tobacco and lottery products.

Cashier, Job Requirements

• Cashier, Work Schedule:

Full-time: 35 to 40 hours per week. Day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends.

Part-time: up to 24 hours per week. Mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Cashier, Physical Job Requirements:

In performing your duties, you can expect to:

• Stand and walk.
• Bend, turn, and crouch.
• Lift or move objects weighing up to 18 kg (40 lb).
• Perform tasks requiring a firm grip.
• Perform repetitive tasks requiring a range of hand movements.
• Reach above the shoulders and below the waist.

The key holder bonus is added in the following cases: occasional store opening and closing.

Closing: produce cash register reports; ensure all sections are well organized; ensure all associates have completed their end-of-shift tasks; assume responsibility for store security, including locking and setting the alarm.

Opening: ensure the store is well stocked and ready to welcome customers, clean and well organized; ensure associates are ready to open their areas for the work shift; open cash registers; unlock and deactivate the alarm; receive deliveries.
