Employment opportunity for a full-time or part-time (3 days minimum) day shift replacement.

As a psychologist within youth protection, you will work with children aged 0-18 (LPJ and LSJPA) who are affected by complex trauma, neglect, rejection, and physical, sexual, and/or psychological abuse, as well as behavioral disorders and their parents. Additionally, you will work with a diverse bilingual clientele from various communities (cultural, ethnic, LGBTQ2SIA+, etc.) across the Montérégie territory. Benefits you can expect:

Make our community better by

• Primarily responding to requests from the psychosocial and rehabilitation sectors of youth protection, providing consultation, psychotherapy, and follow-up with children and adolescents.
• Providing consultation to psychosocial intervenants and/or educators regarding mental health issues.
• Conducting psychological evaluations for cases presenting mental health issues or other cases.
• Participating in multidisciplinary case study meetings during complex clinical situations.
• Essential qualifications (requirements in Health and Social Services):
• Must hold a second-cycle university degree in psychology.
• Member of the Professional Order of Psychologists of Québec.
• Knowledge of clinically proven approaches with children and adolescents (e.g., trauma-focused approaches, dialectical behavior therapy, play therapy, etc.)
• Good knowledge of various mental health issues among young people and adults.
• In-depth knowledge of psychological assessment tools: WPPSI-III, WISC-IV, CAT, TAT, Rorschach, Patte-Noire, Conners’s, MMPI-A.
• 3 years of clinical experience would be an asset.
• Knowledge of the reality of youth centers would be an asset.
• Must possess a valid driver's license as you may be called upon to travel across part of the Montérégie territory.
