Youth Rehabilitation Educator - Valleyfield

Become a youth rehabilitation educator for the protection of youth in Valleyfield. A facility of Health Québec Montérégie-East.

As an educator within the protection of youth, you will be called upon to accompany a clientele aged 0 to 17, boys or girls, in difficulty and having faced various traumas, including neglect, sexual exploitation, or violence, and having various issues such as behavioral disorders and mental health problems. These young people come from diverse communities (cultural, ethnic, LGBTQ2SIA+, etc.). Therefore, a job as a youth rehabilitation educator promises a touching, rich, and highly rewarding experience.

Employment opportunity at part-time and possibility of working full-time in alternating day-night shifts and 1 weekend every 2 weeks.

  • Here's what you can expect in addition, if you are a Full-Time Educator:
  • Welcome and integrate users into the living unit
  • Assess users' needs and explore actions and means necessary for their rehabilitation
  • Support and guide the user, their family, and partners in various activity spheres
  • Ensure periodic evaluation of the intervention plan and the user's involvement
  • Work with network interveners and those within our organization
  • Design and update individualized intervention plans

Essential qualifications (Health and Social Services)

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) with specialization in education techniques (TES) specialized or in intervention techniques in delinquency/criminology (TID/TIC) or in childhood education (TEE) or in social work (TTS) or having completed the College Diploma in Specialized Education (AEC)
  • Having completed the second year of college studies with specialization in specialized education techniques or intervention in delinquency/criminology
  • Having completed the second year of studies in a Bachelor's degree in social work, criminology, sexology, psychology, or psychoeducation
  • Having two university certificates in intervention recognized by the Ministry of Health and Social Services and the competent ministry
  • Holding a valid driver's license (Class 5)
