Data Governance Advisor, Data Governance Office

The Data and Analytics Initiatives Department of the BSD is working on data governance and the framework for data valuation at Desjardins' Security Office. As a Sector Data Governance Advisor, you contribute to the definition and implementation of data management processes that allow for optimal and secure use of data for the benefit of members and clients, in compliance with regulatory, privacy, confidentiality, and security policies. You support teams in recognizing and participating in data management as a strategic asset. You also contribute to the framework for data valuation, including analytical and artificial intelligence initiatives, to promote responsible, secure, and compliant use, aligned with the organization's objectives. You develop recommendations on data use and compliance with applicable frameworks, tailored to the needs of teams and the organization's goals. You act as a reference and resource for data governance to various stakeholders. You will be called upon to interact with various stakeholders in complementary fields to understand needs, present, and explain proposed solutions. More specifically, you will be tasked with:

• Advising data producers and users on how to maximize the value of data in a sound data governance perspective.
• Advising and training teams on the proper application of processes and controls in data management.
• Maintaining and updating registers, tools, and dashboards related to data governance.
• Identifying needs and opportunities in the sector related to data governance.
• Supporting teams in risk analysis and potential gaps between applicable data frameworks and operational practices.
• Developing and implementing practices and mechanisms to ensure compliance with applicable data frameworks.
• Measuring and tracking the performance of deployed standards and practices, including the evolution of data governance maturity.
• Undertaking projects related to the evolution of data governance.

What you bring to the table

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field
• At least four years of relevant experience
• Please note that other combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered
• Experience in organizations with a mature data governance model, with a clear understanding of associated roles and responsibilities
• Experience in business mapping and process development
• Experience in identifying and managing data quality issues
• French language proficiency required
• Mastery of communication and information dissemination techniques
• Mastery of data governance concepts
• Knowledge of data catalogs, ideally IBM Knowledge Catalog (IKC)
• Knowledge of data valuation, including artificial intelligence
• Knowledge of agile work methodology
• Knowledge of the security sector
• Understanding of the sector, Mastery of interpersonal relationships
