JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Under the supervision of his or her immediate superior, the head nurse assistant assumes both clinical and administrative roles. He or she must integrate the organization's overall vision into his or her decision-making and choice of interventions. In a "lifestyle" approach, his or her main responsibilities include:

Care management

• Assume responsibility for a set of nursing care and collaborate in the administration of therapeutic, preventive, and diagnostic procedures.
• Plan, supervise, and coordinate the activities of a service for the entire duration of his or her service.

Team mobilization

• Gather the team members, including new staff, around a coordinated intervention plan, responding to the personalized expectations and needs of residents, while respecting their abilities.
• Act as a resource person for the care team in the planning, distribution, and evaluation of nursing care.

Family engagement

• Encourage family and close relatives to participate in the care process.
• Verify and evaluate the quality of interventions carried out by the team and ensure the continuity of care through effective communication.

Leadership

• Exercise mobilizing leadership within the team, demonstrating expertise and professionalism, and adopting behaviors that reflect listening, respect, understanding, and empathy.
• Collaborate in the orientation, identification of training needs, and evaluation of staff performance, including new staff.

Administrative role

• Assume specific responsibilities to ensure the quality and safety of care and services offered in the establishment.
• Replace the unit head nurse during regular absences, such as weekly, holiday, annual, and other absences not exceeding one continuous month.
• Participate in the organization of the call list and coordinate the necessary replacements to ensure the continuity of care.

Participation in programming and evaluation

• Collaborate in the design, implementation, evaluation, and revision of a service's programming and clinical and care quality evaluation tools.
• Exercise, when required, the usual functions of a nurse or nurse.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Here are the essential criteria we are looking for in this position:

• Analysis and judgment: Have a good capacity for analysis, relevant judgment, and the ability to work in interdisciplinary settings.
• Conflict management: Be able to manage conflictual situations.
• Human values: Share our values of listening, kindness, respect, and empathy.
• Education: Hold a DEC in nursing care or a BAC in nursing sciences.
• Practice license: Have a practice license from the OIIQ.
• Up-to-date training: Ensure that your RCR and PDSP training is up-to-date.
• Experience: Possess at least one year of relevant experience, including a minimum of one year in short-term care or two years in active geriatrics, as well as at least one year in a long-term care facility.
• Client orientation: Be client-focused, embodying our values of humanity, safety, organization, and dynamism.
• Interpersonal skills: Have the ability to analyze situations, make relevant judgments, and establish positive and stimulating interpersonal relationships.
• Leadership: Demonstrate leadership and a sense of organization.
• Languages: Master French (spoken and written), English is an asset.
• Computer skills: Have practical knowledge of computer tools.

• Salary TE 2489: $30.59 to $52.43 per hour, depending on experience.

NUMBER OF HOURS

• 4-week schedule equivalent to 140 hours
• Weekday hours (11:30 PM to 7:30 AM)
• With a weekend off every 4 weeks (7:30 PM to 7:30 AM)
